Hotel Williams Opera 'We paid extra for a "superior" room. On arrival we were given a small basic room,which itself, was reasonably clean but had such a filthy ceiling that the whole room was made depressing because of this. There were no bedside tables. When I queried with the receptionist that this surely was not a superior room I was told a double room was a superior room! I asked if we could be moved but was told that there were no rooms available but that it may be possible the next day. We therefore enquired the next afternoon about moving to be told by a different receptionist that we had left it far too late and it was impossible to move for that night. This receptionist told me that "superior" was "just a name". The next morning I asked for a key in order that I could see another room - I was given this very grudgingly and looked at this room. This room was the same size, the decor was fresher and did have bedside cabinets but still was not a "superior" room - therefore with only one night to go we decided not to waste our last day in Paris by spending time moving our possessions. I understand that hotel rooms in Paris are small however the information on the Hotel in Paris.fr site states that all 30 rooms are entirely renovated and indicates that some rooms have bath tubs. At the time of booking ,based on this information, I chose to pay the additional 20 euros per night to secure a superior room but with no bath and dirty decor this additional payment was taken for services which were not received.
